Int decisions are OUT!! Check your e-mails!

Nobody has received a rejection email -- so probably Vassar will do it later or just won't email at all.Unfortunately I don't have any...

same question as viv.r
has anyone from Asia received an e-mail notification?

ehh.. actually i just realized it's a bit pointless... i don't think location makes a different for e-mails...lol... well i guess i'm hopeless then...

Anyway...

good luck everyone...

i am in asia and i still have not gotten it

I guess I have to wait until Monday for an email because nobody works during the weekend -- and as for the snail mail I'll receive it in 8-10 days  (Bulgaria is on the other side of the world)

Well, I'm in South America and I haven't received either. I think Vassar kind of screwed up with this, because there are a lot of people, anxious, that didn't get a thing from them. knox, I don't think we didn't get it because it's a rejection. It might happen that all of us got rejected, but I was told that the email sending is random. And honestly, how fair would it be to deprive the rejects from an closure, or to delay it because it's less important? We all took the time to apply, we all deserve the same respect.

Can anybody call the admissions office to see if it's opened today and if there is somebody who can help us? I would call myself, but my phone doesn't make International calls. I sent them an email this morning, but I haven't got an answer.

I'm sure there is nobody working at the weekend

I think so too, but I thought that maybe they are still sending out emails...

If I had to guess (and this is strictly a guess), the admissions department probably sent the emails out in batches. I believe that both accepted and rejected international students get emails sent to them, so don't worry about that.

Best of luck to everyone who's still waiting to hear, congrats to those who got in, and condolences to those who were rejected.

^certainly hope so...

are those received the decision all get in?
is there anyone rejected or WL?

I haven't got mine either yet!

And I am from India, has anybody nearby gotten their email?

Guess I am a reject, oh well. :(

giajale, the fact that you haven't received anything yet doesn't automatically mean that you were rejected. I'm pretty sure colleges always inform an applicant of a decision, regardless of that decision and the applicant's domestic/international status. Patience!

Easier said than done, I know...

Well, I'm pretty sure I got rejected. International asking for Fin Aid is impossible. But I don't think that everybody that didn't got an answer is rejected. I'm thinking they emailed Central America, maybe Europe (is there anybody from Europe here?). South America didn't get, neither did Asia, for what we can read here. Yesterday I was a little angry with all this mess, but in the other thread someone posted that they got more than 7000 applicants, which I think is more than they normally get, and they probably didn't expect it, therefore notification issues. I think this year a lot of schools are having problem with their notifications. I think many were not prepared for so many people applying.

I'm Bulgarian (Bulgaria is a Southeastern European country ;) ) and how I've said 2 or 3 times I haven't received an email. I really hope to get one tomorrow...

Oh yeah, sorry knox. I was actually thinking about Western Europe, but it doesn't make too much sense to email them, and do not email Eastern Europe. But again, I don't know why they emailed Central America and didn't email South America or Brazil, I'm just starting to go with the rejection theory. Did you apply for Fin Aid, knox?

I did probably as most of the int applicants :(

Guys I think you should stop worrying... it was obviously some kind of regional thing cause no one else has claimed to receive an email but me and a friend from my country that also applied. She got accepted as well.

Also the dean of admissions is the direct representative for our region... maybe that has something to do with it

I'm bouncing between worrying and justifying it, luciana, hehe. I'm sticking with theory that they probably were just overwhelmed with the number of applicants this year (but I might still freak out a few times). I mean, people were having serious issues to load Northwestern's decisions page and I think I heard something about Stanford, so they are not the only ones.
Out of curiosity, did you ask for Aid (I don't know exactly what's the shot with Vassar asking for Aid, but they kind of have a low endowment, right?), luciana?
