Int. Relations or Public Policy degree for International Development?

Hi all,

Here's a general question: which "type" of degree gives one the skill set necessary for a successful career in international development--international relations degree (e.g. SAIS) or public policy degree (e.g. WWS, KSG)?

How flexible are IR degrees in comparison to MPP/MPAs?

I'd love other foreign nationals to weigh in as well, as I am one and am looking to work either here in the US or outside the country.
