Does anyone know anyone who's in this program? How do they like it? Is this program selective?

the only people who i've known in it have either dropped out or have a reallyyyyyy low gpa...it's very intense.

My roommate was in it and just dropped out. It's very intense and she was quite unhappy during her time in ISP. However, there is a kid in my Latin class who's in it and really likes it. Everyone agrees that it's a lot of work and I can personally verify that from seeing my roommate do seven hours of homework a night, every night...even weekends.

i was in ISP and dropped out because my GPA was totally shot. it is very focused on physics and math, more than i thought it would be. i am now a double major in biology and chemistry, its still intense but not as insane as ISP. if you are considering ISP i suggest you look into the course work before hand and consider the fact that there will be essentially no curve because the kids are brilliant. the other thing i didnt like was that you cant take any other classes with non-ISP kids unless you take 5 classes...which you would never want to with the ISP courseload. but the people who the program is right for love it and it looks amazing, its very easy to get whatever research internship you want because the program is (rightfully) very well respected.

do ISP ppl not have the chance to take any non-science classes? what about your minor? that doesn't have to be science related right?

i want to go to medical after undergrad and i know that GPA is very important. is it a bad idea to be both pre-med and ISP (since the it's so hard to keep a high GPA)?

the ISP curriculum is very demanding and while you can take a 5th class, the work can be overwhelming. most people in ISP double or triple major in science/math though it is possible to minor in something not science related i believe. the program is only 3 years long so you can do a lot outside of the sciences senior year though most just do research or do another science major. i was premed in ISP and my GPA is shot i am in the process of trying to fix it. most people in ISP go to grad school and not med school though if you make it through ISP and decide to go to med school you will be beyond well prepared and most likely be bright enough to get into a top med school.
