Integration and orientation to college

Hey guys!
I was wondering if I have (obligatory) to assist to any of the planned orientations? what happens if I cant assist to any of them? I live in colombia and would have to go to the states, come back to colombia to get my student visa ,and them back again when college starts!

Hey, I'm from Bangladesh and I was thinking about this so I emailed the orientation people a couple of weeks back and they said there's a late orientation session around the 30th of August which we can attend if we are unable to attend the summer sessions....so I guess a lot of internatinal students are gonna attend the late session.....

Yes the week right before school begins is the orientation for Internationals so they don't need to fly out more than once. I think they cover special topics geard toward non-US students then too.

Oh yeah, my roomate went to the orientation session the week before school started last September, and he mentioned how practically everyone was from a different country. When he first arrived, he didnt know that the majority of international students attended this session, and was shocked at the fact that their were people from all over the world, then it finally clicked.

I think there is also a special orientation a week earlier for kids with learning differences/disabilities so they can get special attention and learn the ropes.
Welcome Columbia and Bangladesh. There are lots of kids here from so many different countries. During the summer I am going to visit one in France that I met this year. There are clubs that draw students from various cultures and that seems to help with their transition. They usually attract US kids too that are interested in that country or planning to intern there.
