How is the Integrative Biology major in L&S viewed? I want to go to Med School eventually, but I still want to maintain a high GPA. How hard is this major?

Thanks.

It is much easier than MCB but roughly the same as other biology majors on campus

Medical Schools do not care what you major. IB does not have any set tracks that you have to follow. As long as you have at least one course from each of the three Areas, a genetics class, and two lec/lab courses you are good. (you cannot use any courses for multiple requires (e.g. you cannot use one class for both an Area requirement and a Lec/Lab requirement))

In theory you could find out which IB courses are the easiest and take those.

I am an IB+Latin double major, non-premed

^ that’s cool. Is it easy to graduate from IB in 2.5 years if you really work on it?

DD used none of her AP units and still could have graduated in 3.5 years, I am sure if you added summer school or AP units and had some reason you could finish early. BUt why? There is a thread here some where about med schools not liking to see people rush through undergrad plus you have less time to be involved in activities and set yourself apart from the crowd.
