Umm… Do u guys think its odd that Intel doesn’t specify that the report doesn’t have to be double spaced? That means that we can essentially double the length of the reports compared to last year and Siemens, not as if there is anything significant to add on mine ( I only revised my original report a bit).

Yeah, that’s a bit strange… mine’s ~17 pages double-spaced, although I might do some last-minute additions.

Only 2 days 'til the deadline!!

And I’m still having trouble with the “Your Promise as a Scientist, Mathematician or Engineer” prompt, ugh.

did they get back to you on that?
Do we suppose to send two transcripts or sth? In my portal it says:

Transcripts:
SCHOOL NAME: Received (official)
SCHOOL NAME: Not Received

I have it too

Im pretty sure someone said that was a mistake and that SFS Would be taking the second school down in 1 to 2 days.

Okay so I submit my application today. But how do I check if they received my transcript already. I sent it out two weeks ago but I don’t know iof they even got the transcripts.

it should say below your recommendations

when are the results announced?

January. Wish you all luck. Hopefully, all of us can say we’re semifinalists if not finalists :)

What if it says nothing about transcripts on my portal? It doesn’t say “not received.” There’s just nothing below the recommendation providers.

There’s a section somewhere in the application where you checkmark, affirming that you submitted the transcripts. Have you done that? Maybe the “not received”/“received” only shows up after you check that.

@wexs 883198215 I emailed society for science yesterday. I was told a few things regarding the transcripts
- The “recieved” stautus won’t appear until you submit your application.
- There is a backlog of transcripts being “organized”, so to speak, so it may be a few days before your transcript you status says its recieved. In other words, they already have it, they just haven’t gotten around to confirming it.
- If you sent your transcript in many weeks ago ang it has been recieved, it may take up to a full day for this to appear in your status. Of course this is after you submit the application.

Wouldnt it be awsome if we all made finalist…a guy can dream.

Wait, I submitted my paper but I had a separate paper (for references) that I uploaded later. I submitted my application, and only the references appear, and not the paper itself. I contacted tech support and attached the paper at like 8:10 pm. What’s going to happen to my application?

Um, right now, my portal simply says “Submission Status: Submitted” with regard to the Application. The recommendation part disappeared and the transcript part never showed up in the first place. I have no idea what that means. I did check that box confirming that I submitted a transcript. It wouldn’t have let me submit my part of the app without checking it, I believe. Would the transcript confirmed part only show up after submitting my part of the application? I called Intel STS and got a lady on the phone, who said that she looked through my file and didn’t see anything. In retrospect, I don’t know if that was done electronically or physically.

@ephenst: Are you sure about that? I have several friends who say that they saw the received status before they submitted their part of the app. I did hear about the backlog when I called, but they said the pile’s transcripts were not likely to have been sent two weeks ago (would’ve been processed if that were the case)

Good luck everyone!!!

I have the email to prove it. The exact words were as follows:

“Dear Stephen , I do have a transcript by your name from ******* High School . We have many transcripts to process and because of this it will take us a couple more days to enter them into the system. You can find this information when you log into your account and on the very bottom should show what has been submitted . Please check your account for any updates. Thank you and Good Luck ! Sincerely , June Kee Office Manager Science Education Program …”

The only reason I said this happens after is because cleary the office had my transcript but it never showd up on my account until after I submit my application.

He, so I have a question:
In the research report, did you have to put your name on top of every page because I didnt do that, but when I opened the PDF of my application when I sent it, I saw my name on top of every page. So the qurstion is basically: do you have to put your name on every page of the research report, or does the application system do it for you?

I scrutinized the Rules and Instruction Form carefully. I don’t see any requirement for that for this year. It’s required for last yr tho, when u send it via paper form.

@ephenst: Okay thanks. I called in and my situation got resolved.
@Cedric: I think the name is automatically added for you. I did have my name on the top of each page, and what happened when I previewed it was that I saw my name twice on the top of those pages.

anyone know when results are out?
