How did you conduct your research? I want to enter this year but I can’t find any place to do it. Also, how did you select your topic… did you sign on to someone else’s ongoing project or did you start a new one from scratch?

Thanks in advance.

The best way to get started with research is to think of a field you are interested in and then go on the website of a local university and browse through the faculty page. From there you can see the work that professors are doing in your field of interest, and more than likely one of them will be willing to help you perform your own research.

You can then contact a professor via email or telephone, but I suggest that you read some of their publications first. They will be very impressed if you know what you are talking about and demonstrate a strong interest in their research.

I first helped my mentor with his own ongoing research, which helped me learn lab procedures and techniques. After a few months I then formulated my own topic with the help of my mentor.

lol. exactly what jcas323 said.
