<p>i'm having some confusions with the rules due to in vivo experimentation with rats/mice. i think my mentor has an approval from IUCAC from early 2006. and i will only be using the tissues. anyone know if this is okay?</p>
<p>You won't do well. I believe that IUCAC approval will be void if you killed the rats/mice in order to obtain tissue, which you probably did unless you obtained them from the ears. Regardless if you used the tissues and not the animals, if the animals were killed for the purpose of you getting the tissues, your project is against the rules. </p>
<p>My friend is in the same boat as you. He killed mice for one project, but luckily he's doing another one this summer involving microarrays and thus doesn't have to worry about animal euthanasia.</p>
