Hey everyone!

First, good luck to anyone reading this who will be getting their decision in 3 or so days - you guys are all awesome and the decision really is not that big of a deal. Besides, the general consensus is that grad school matters more than undergrad. So :)

Question: how big of an advantage would it be if you were an intel talent semifinalist with a high gpa and extracurriculars? (to an ivy league top school)

Thank you in advance for the help!

I wasn’t a part of the Intel Talent Search, but I went to the Intel ISEF last year, got 2nd place in category and the 2nd biggest special award you can get. I am also going to intel again this year.

Even with this and an almost perfect application (35 ACT, varsity athletics), I’m getting rejected almost everywhere. I got rejected from vanderbilt, rice, washu, and waitlisted to BC.

So no, Intel wont be enough to get you into good colleges. Even with ISEF, I still got rejected almost everywhere.

Wow! That’s crazy. Sorry about that. Do you think it was the GPA or do you have any idea why you were rejected?
