intellectual atmosphere of ND

Except the weather.

not a fan of USNR rankings. I think Georgetown is a bit more selective and desirable

A friend of mine who went to Gtown said that students there try to act more intellectual because there is not much to do when you’re done with your schoolwork for the day or the weekend, except hang out off campus.
Seriously, both are great intellectual schools!

Georgetown gets lower acceptance rate and seems more selective because it is a “safety school” for east coast kids who want to go Ivy League schools. Students who apply to Notre Dame really want to go to Notre Dame. This conclusion is supported by the YIELD - which is the percentage of the number of students who decide to to the school over the total number of students accepted by the school. Notre Dame’s YIELD is much much higher than Georgetown’s.
I’m from the east coast, and all my friends who wanted to go to Ivy schools applied to Georgetown as backup.
Again, both are terrific schools!

Notre Dame has colder climate. Georgetown is definitely warmer. Not commonly known fact - the Washington DC area is very bad for people with pollen or mold allergies. Some who don’t have allergies will develop one after living in DC in a year or so. There is a price for that warmer weather of DC for some people.

Notre Dame is more fun b/c everyone really wants to be there. People at G-town are there b/c its a backup for them= they are not as happy.

South Bend kills me with its allergy.

higher yield = happier students

i think.

go irish regardless
