Intellectual Topic vs General Life Topic

I know a lot of people are having this basic question and I need some concrete advise. I am applying to top biomed schools and want to know whether I should relate my essay to a medical/science related experience like working in a lab or my SEAP Internship for two summers, or should I choose something completely different (which I easily can). Which looks better to these colleges (especially biomed): the fact that I wrote something that pertains to my future field (and thusly, them) or just something else completely?!

Really need some advice! Thanks!

Don't mean to bump but really need some advice quick!

it all depends on how you approach the topic, man. don't write about what you think adcoms want to read, write what you're passionate about.

very true, but I am pretty passionate about biomed and I was wondering if writing about that would be better than something else altogether? I can go either way with the "passion" but I am wondering if showing my passion for biomed will be better otherwise
