Intenational student with low TOEFL score getting into college

Hi. So I’m an international student from India. I took the TOEFL test on April and got 91/120 (Reading: 23, Listening: 22, Speaking: 22, Writing 24).

I just want to know if that score can affect my chances to get into college or is there any international student who get this score range but still get into good colleges. (I’m aiming for IU-Bloomington, UMass Amherst, Hofstra, Uni of Iowa,…)

Thank you so much.

You’re applying to public universities as a (I assume) full-pay international student. I suspect your TOEFL won’t matter much, given how much tuition you will be bringing in! As long as you meet the minimum requirement (listed on each school’s website) you should be OK.

Each of those places probably posts the minimum score for direct admission right on the website. They probably also post the options available to you if your score is not high enough for direct admission. Many will offer provisional admission and placement into an on-campus ESL program that will guarantee you a spot once you reach the score needed and/or complete a particular set of ESL classes.
