Intended Major. Say whaaaa!?!?

On the application where it asks to put intended major, do you HAVE to apply to the science majors or language majors to get accepted? I was kind of thinking anthropology, but I want my options to remain open. I know that most colleges do not have binding majors except for like BME. What's the dealio?

Really, just be honest. You’re not locked into it, and trying to game the system by picking a major you think they want more people in is a fool’s game.

Hmm not sure about other fields, but I know for the FLL you are bound to your major. For example, before I left for college my freshman year I emailed my dean saying that I didn’t want to be a Linguistics major. He sent this:

Good Morning:

Students admitted to the FLL division of the College may not change their majors until the end of the first year and are expected to take a course in their major each semester.

Maybe it’s different for other majors… but just saying this is what happened to me
