Can an applicant’s intended major have any impact on admittance? Is it a ‘hook’ for a woman to indicate physics as an intended major, or would indicating classics as an intended major give an applicant an advantage?

I believe the intended concentration is a total non-factor.

not at all unless it's something like female/URM in engineering/sciences or a unique interest that has clearly been sustained throughout high school (ie. East Asian Studies and Japanese)
