Can you list some colleges with intense academics, intellectual climate outside of classroom and personal attention.

And strong programs in sciences too.
Thank you.

If you need a lot of personal attention, Harvey Mudd.

Swarthmore comes to mind.

Reed Reed Reed.

Carleton
Chicago
Mudd
Princeton
Reed
Rice
Swarthmore

Swarthmore, rep as the most intensely intellectual campus around. Excellent sciences, beautiful new science facilities, gorgeous campus, low student/faculty ratio with personal attention from the profs.

Chicago, Rice, Harvey Mudd

UChicago is what first came to mind.

The first school I think of when I hear "intense" is definitely U Chicago.

The first I think of when I hear "intellectual atmosphere" is also U Chicago.

Bowdoin. Intellectual + highly personalized. Also Williams, Swarthmore, and Vassar. Places where you learn how to think.

Berkeley...the only thing lacking is "personal attention"...but the opportunities are there.

Reed Swarthmore Uni of Chicago

Chicago, Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon. If you are a woman, consider Bryn Mawr and Wellesley.

Princeton Review rates Holy Cross' academics at 98, one of the highest scores. 10% of the school's alumni are physicians. The school is midway in its building of a 60 million addition to its science facilities. Holy Cross is one of the nation's top producers of chemistry graduates certified by the American Chemical Society

For personal attention, definitely look at LACs. Those will be your best bet in terms of class sizes.

Examples:
Reed
Harvey Mudd
Pomona
Colorado College
Colgate
Swarthmore
Williams
Bates
Colby
Bowdoin
Vassar
Hamilton

If you extend your list to universities, add MIT and CalTech. Maybe Cornell.

Reed, Harvey Mudd, Bates, Clarkson, Swathmore, Hamilton

My ultimate list looked something like St. John's (not for you), Mudd, Reed, Chicago, Swarthmore.

What about Olin or Cooper Union? I know very little about them, but they're worth looking into.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Oberlin yet!

CalTech .
