The level of expectation of professors doesn’t get driven up by competition. Most professors already have a high level of expectations for their classes and it’s more of a matter of how much student laziness drives their expectations down for that semester.
Glad she isn’t looking at the scores and GPA of the schools or “rank”.
How about focus on the outcomes of the students coming out of each of the three programs?
Bottom line isn’t that the goal
D is closer to a decision. We analyzed the heck out of this with a little help from Excel, and found that even though there are different stressors (weighted for importance and scored) at each school, there wasn’t a significant difference in the cumulative weighted stressor scores between the schools. However, we were able to identify the very few stressors that she really didn’t want to live with. Because of that, the scales have been tipped. Yay.
BTW, @ClarinetDad16 we did look at outcomes somewhere in the process- I agree, it’s very important, and that helped us get to her final 3 schools.
Still talking about and learning about how to identify “gut feel” reactions. Easy for my right-brain-dominant child. Harder for this one.
Glad you are finding a a good way to sort through it. Best of luck!
