Intent to Register and Deposit

When does IU want their "intent to register" signed? I am still waiting to hear back from another college on April 28th.. but IU gave me their acceptance a couple days ago. How long do I have? If you fill it out can you rescind it? Also, for their orientation.. do you only get invited if you have filled out the "intent to register" or is it everyone who has been accepted get invited?

You can fill out the intent to register form anytime before May 1. No reason that you can’t do it on April 30 and then pay your enrollment deposit with a credit card the same day.

A lot of students have probably filled out the intent to register, paid their $100 enrollment deposit, then wound up going to another school for one reason or another. They are only out $100 if they do this. IU can’t make you attend if you change your mind after May 1.

Thanks bthomp, that link doesnt seem to be for transfer students. Do transfer students even need to pay a $100 deposit? All they sent me was a PDF to fax in.

It seems like you would have to make some kind of commitment to hold your spot. Call the admissions office and they can probably tell you over the phone.

appreciate the advice

Is it normal if IU only ask me to deposit the $100 but did not ask me to fill out the intent to register form ?

P.S It only mention about the deposit in the letter.
