What is it like transferring between Ivy League colleges? Can someone describe the dynamic there? I'm a Dartmouth student considering Brown, UPenn, maybe Yale.

Would you mind telling me what you’re studying, and why you want to leave Dartmouth?

I’m considering applying to Dartmouth, what’s wrong with it? I didn’t know UPenn was an Ivy??

UPenn in Philadelphia is indeed one of the Ancient Eight … not Penn State in College Park

The Ivy league is a sports conference. Transferring from one Ivy league school to another is the same as transferring from any selective school to another, there is not different “dynamic” just because they’re Ivies.

“State College”, not “College Park”.

I transferred from Columbia to Dartmouth - I would say about 20-25% of my transfer class at Dartmouth came from other Ivies.

Oops … College Park is Maryland.
University Park is the actual home of Penn State and
State College is the name of one exit off the highway
and IIRC was the name of the community of Penn State
until it got big enough to need its own zip code.
I believe it’s still the name of the surrounding community.

At any rate – UPenn is in Philadelphia!
