Interaction with Admissions Counselors

From the '09 applicant pool, how many of you guys have had conversations, phone calls, emails, etc. with your state representative? How many have received calls to your schools regarding your application? Even more, has a representative ever expressed that they, themselves, would 'vote' for you in committee? Thanks in advance for those who respond!

In case anyone is interested, my stats are:

Gender: Male
Race: Hispanic
Location: Kentucky
School: Public

Rank: 1 out of 784
SATI: 780 V, 710 M
SATII: Writing - 740, MathIIC - 690, Literature - 800

I just visted... didnt really talk to an admissions officer directly, i was more content walking around and seeing the campus.

accepted ED

Hey, IWantDuke, if an admissions person has personally contacted you and said that he/she would advocate your acceptance, I think you shouldn't have anything to worry about...lol. Why would Duke call you like that and then reject you? Some sort of cruel joke? Your stats are nice, BTW, and you seem like the sort of student Duke would admit. I think you're in.

I talked to my admissions rep (the awesome Alice Sy) when she visited my school. I then had a short email convo with her when my teacher recs were misplaced. I don't think she talked to my GCs. Nowhere did we talk stats or likeliness of being accepted.

Thanks, cavalier302. I hope you're right!
