Interal Transfer Into Computer Science?

Has/does anyone know someone who has successfully been able to transfer into computer science from a program like Undergraduate Studies? What is a competitive GPA for a computer science transfer - 4.0?

You should note that this year is the first time there will actually be a competitive application process. Last year everyone applied because it was still open but since they had so many, they basically had to cut it off and only let in a few people. This year is the first time they have a normal application process like ECE or Business. So basically it will entirely depend on the quality of the people applying. Could need a 4.0 or a 3.5, depends on your competition

Can you elaborate?
Last year there was no competition or?..

Well it’s kind of a long story but basically CNS (and therefore CS) was a completely open unrestricted college until Fall 2014. So every semester, anyone with a 2.5 could become a CS major. So in Spring 2014, all these people were “applying” for Fall 2014 so they could get in before it became closed/restricted. And they all thought they were getting in until the end of the semester, when they realized something like 500 people had applied. So it was literally impossible with 400 freshmen coming, and they had to reject a lot of people who had thought all semester they were getting. They scrambled to find some strong people they could admit, but this is the first semester anyone will actually be applying to CS with a competitive process. So no one knows yet how difficult it will be

Is it really that easy to get into CNS as an internal transfer in the past: As long as one maintained a 2.5 they could get into CNS?

Yes before Fall 2014 if you had a 2.5 you just filled out the paperwork and you were declared as CS
