I thought this major seemed interesting and unique to me. I like acting, but I'm really not that much artistic in drawing or painting or what not. I would like to get into photography and film and not really drawing, sculptures, painting, etc. When you submit your portfolio can it just be of photography/film? Would I be required to take classes in the other area's? I'm really not artistic and good in those area's and more into the photography. Thanks!

Hey earlycollege! I think you’ll have better luck here [School of Art & Design - BFA in Interarts Performance Curriculum](http://www.art-design.umich.edu/currugrad_interarts.php#interarts). They also give you the emails of the professors you should contact for questions. I’ve generally found the Michigan professors to be very nice and honest in answering questions, so shoot them your questions!

ETA: Looks like the portfolio requirements are as follows:
“Drawings from direct observation. If you have in the past copied from photographs or other flat copy, you can improve your portfolio with drawings from observation. Include a sketchbook or individual sketches along with finished drawings. Include works that convey your strengths and interests in other 2-D media (for example: fibers, painting, photography, printmaking, and mixed media), 3-D media (for example: ceramics, metalwork, sculpture and installations), electronic media (for example: computer, video, sound, and audio). And performance, conceptual or other work not easy to categorize.”

Thanks be_somebody. I did check the website and was still confused. I may email them and ask, but I’m kind of embarrassed to though. I don’t know if I could just focus on photography/film and not painting and etc. I’m really bad at the other stuff. Thanks again!
