interational student transfer- within US

Hi guys,

this is a new thread for all our international buddies who are having a hard time studying in the college they are studying at present and want to transfer to another college or university for various reasons like financial aid problems, changing of major, social life, and other reasons..
what we could do at first is tell about ourselves that is (this is only if you like to share-your present college, high school stats, your college stats and the schools u r applying for transfer) and then discuss things. happy new year guys..

i 'm at a community college in LA, i wonder that if i can transfer to out-state university.
almost every friend around me is planning transferring, but it's CA's university. does international student has chance to transfer to outstate. if it does. why wouldn't they transfer out? if i can transfer, does that means public universities will be easier to get into. (by the way, i prefer private. but i am not against public. since i have to pay non-resident fee at public school)

bump.......

lff_ca, I am not sure if you are asking questions or making statements.

Are you asking if international students can transfer from a Californian community college to an out-of-state private university? Definitely!

Are you wondering what might keep students in the state? Well, California just has some pretty amazing public universities (the University of California system is the best public university system in the country and has more national name recognition than a lot of private universities with the same price tag). In addition, it is easier to move all your stuff over short distances than across the country. I would guess that many international students enroll at a Californian community college with the intent to transfer to a UC afterwards, and go to a community college first just to safe money or get fluent in English.

I completely agree with b@r!um. If you are studying at community college at CA, why don't you go to UC? You definitely have a good chance to be admitted in one of those UCs..
