How many people have actually succesfully transferred from a UC to UCB or UCLA? Right now, I feel as though I made the wrong choice by enrolling to UCSD. I feel as though I should have gone to a community college instead. According to people I have talked to, the difficulity of getting a 3.0 at a univeristy is already tough, but trying to earn a 3.9 is nearly impossible. I know that acceptance also depends on the major, unfortunately, I want a business or economics degree which are impacted majors at both UCB and UCLA. Has anybody here been transferred to UCB or UCLA? What were your stats when you applied?

I went to UCD for a year, hated it, came back home, went to a CCC for two years (could've possibly done it in one, but I didn't really want to go back to a UC initially, and then when I changed my mind, apps for that year were all in) and am heading to UCLA this fall for Econ/Int'l Area Studies. Not precisely your question, but similar. There's also, I think davisengineer? who's going to Berkeley, from, duh, Davis.

Yeah, I know someone who actually transfered from UC Riverside to Berkeley for business. He had a 3.7 and a good internship. This was 1 year ago.

oh wow, that puts some confidence into me. personally, i just want to get into berkeley whether its for the economics major or haas. but both are impacted. which major should a person apply for, economics or haas business school, if ithe person has the ideal gpa and extracurricular activities? which major in your opinion would have the higher chance of being accepted?

"which major should a person apply for, economics or haas business school, if ithe person has the ideal gpa and extracurricular activities?"

This depends on your own interest. I don't think anyone can answer this for you.

"which major in your opinion would have the higher chance of being accepted?"

I think Econ is definitely easier in terms of transfer admissions.

I got into ucla with a 3.62 from uci for econ.

besides the gpa, what were the other things that you did to increase your chances of getting in? like did you join a frat, hold key positions in clubs, volunteer hours.
