Interdisciplinary Computing Major

What kind of jobs would majoring in a chemistry focused interdisciplinary computing major make available?

This major is relatively new at my university and is sort of a mix of Computer Science and Chemistry, both of which I really enjoy.

Is this major looked down upon when applying for jobs in CS? I ask because this major doesn’t include a few of the later CS courses like compiler construction.

Call the major “Computer Science and Chemistry” on your resume and you should be more or less fine for CS jobs.

The last year’s worth of CS courses are hard to appreciate if you don’t go on to get a graduate degree in the field anyhow. 70%+ of jobs for CS majors don’t use them, since most jobs for BS majors don’t deal with very memory-intensive technology.

Ah okay, thank you!
