Interdisciplinary Studies major?

What first comes to mind when someone says that they are majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies? My areas of concentration are child psychology and child and family welfare (eventually getting a master's in social work).

My school is forcing me to get a minor in interdisciplinary studies because I am in the honors program there. And no it has nothing to do with “discipline” it’s more an all around major. You take classes from the three subjects. I have to take them from humanities, social science, and natural sciences.

My school also offers a major in interdisciplinary studies and it gives you the option to pick three areas you want to focus in and you have to take a minimum amount of classes for each.

Does it make sense??

just sounds like you’re taking a bunch of random crap. not saying it is that, just that they should make it more clear
