lol omg...do u play CS source or 1.6...i quit that crap sophomore year in HS it takes up too much clan to be in a clan and a league (i was cal-p!) lol

I also quit during sophmore and junior year for SAT studying but went back during senior year since i got hit by the senoritis and a sense of freedom i never felt before(maybe thats also part of the senoritis).

haha cs... senior year was way too fun. clickNconnect tourney's everymonth, went to san jose for euphnet... lanning is the only fun aspect of cs. online is too lame. #nervedamage @gamesurge.net hit me up -hershy- we'll play

Internet speed is awesome though, and you should have no problem with ping/latency on internet games. Though LAN can be a lot of fun too if you have enough players on your floor.

You can download music and/or use bittorrent. Just make sure you're not downloading copyrighted material. Just use Lastfm or Pandora to listen to music!

i dont get it. at orientation they said that they find your IP because sometimes the owners of the copywrited material download from other people who have their stuff.

so wouldnt turning off uploads prevent this from happening?

Downloading and using bit torrent software and torrents is NOT ILLEGAL. The illegal part of it is when you download COPYRIGHTED stuff like music, movies, software, etc.

But there are legal torrents out there. Stuff like Linux ISOs are usually distributed via bit torrent. Many free internet TV shows also distribute via bit torrent.

So as long as what you're downloading is NOT copyrighted material that you would normally have to purchase, you'll be fine.

One good thing to do is to enable sharing on your itunes collection. That way, the rest of your network subnet (usually the rest of your floor and maybe part of the one above or below you) can access and stream your music. Usually there are several people on who are sharing their music. Great way to expand your "collection", if only temporarily.

Any online streaming music service is fine. Pandora, Last.fm, imeem, etc are all legal because they pay a streaming radio fee to the record companies for permission to operate their service. So it is free to the user and 100% legal.
