How heavily weighted is the interest factor in the admission process at Rice? Suppose Student 'A' has great EC's, essay, recs, and a decent ACT score (Let estime 30 on the ACT) with visits & a interview but on the other hand Student 'B' has the same/decent EC's, essay, recs, but a higher ACT score (Lets say a 34). Who do YOU think Rice would prefer?

It is not going to make any difference. Rice isn’t playing the admission games like WashU and some others.

They know you are interested because you took the time to apply and paid the $60. (Naturally, if you just half way complete the application and essay portions then that will make a difference.)

Si! They don’t pull the WashU accepting-less-qualified-but-more-interested-candidates-to-boost-their-yield-rate BS.
