Interest in X College Question

One of the questions on a supplement of mine asks "How did you become interested in X e.g., website" etc. I simply answered "I became interested in X after my economics professor suggested that I apply." I feel this is an especially vapid response to a question that has a limit of 1200 characters (I have 1019 remaining).

Any thoughts? Are they looking for a straightforward answer or a more detailed chain of events leading up to my decision to apply?

why are you applying to the college?

There’s an entire other essay for that question. Bump?

Are you serious? This is pretty much the “Why X college?” essay. If you want to have a decent chance at admission, you need to elaborate on precisely why you think this school is a great fit for you and how you will take advantage of all the resources and opportunities offered to you.

Yes. The “How did you become interested in X college” question is followed directly by a question very similar to the “Why X college” question.
