Your SATs are low for Hopkins--hopefully your ACT will turn out better. As for "am I competitive for the BA/MA at SAIS", that is decided later on--you have to apply for the program at Hopkins, and your college grades and intent to pursue an MA at SAIS (along with some other stuff) is considered.

But as I said, your SATs are below the 25% for admitted students.

You don't apply until early second semester of your sophomore year. Your SAT scores, AP scores, etc, in HS all do not matter.

They look primarily at your grades, extra curriculars (particularly those that demonstrate a deep interest in international affairs and show international experience), and personal statement. Make sure to get top grades in your political science/IR/economics classes as well.... SAIS likes to see you take some quantitative classes also (calculus, statistics, etc).

Its a very competitive program I wouldn't suggest attending JHU with the sole intent of doing this program... admissions is nearly a crapshoot from what I hear. About 30 or so people apply each year and only 8-9 get admitted.... while that is statistically near a 30% admit rate, you have to realize that the pool is already pretty self selected and nearly everyone who applies are great candidates. The program is also becoming more and more popular from what I hear, and thus more difficult to get in.

Actually if you want to learn more about the 5 year BA/MA program in International Studies between Hopkins and SAIS I recommend reading the following:

sorry to dig out this old thread, but can you comment on the 5 year BA/MA program with Sciences-Po? Is it as competitive as SAIS to get into?

(I got into JHU a few hours ago!!! So excited  )
