Interested in multiple things...what should i major in? help!!

Im a freshman and still undeclared.... im interested in

environmental sceince

politics

international relations

economics

business-management but NOT accounting

Unfortuntly money after graduation is a primary concern, and i need to be able to pay back loans/support myself....which one of these majors would be the best? i like all of them...

I would do environmental science. It seems like that’s a big deal now a days and i would assume you could get a job easily. But pick something you really really want to do

I would do environmental science too. You could minor in one of the other subjects if that’s an option at your school.

I’m actually an Environmental Biology major, so I too would go for the env.sci degree… but I would look at what that requires. Employers want someone with usable skills, and sometimes an Env Science degree is not quite as demanding as Biology/Env. Biology. If there aren’t any hard science requirements (O Chem, Upper level biology courses) I would choose something else. You could always go for a minor in it.

If money later on is a concern, I would NOT pick environmental science.

Economics or business is the way to go.

Environmental Science if that interests you.

When i say environmental science i mean more like policy… like enviro policy and stuff, im really not into the high level bio/chem at all…should i eliminate that then? i think its a little wishy washy the whole enviro policy/international relations/poli sci majors

If it doesn’t interest you then don’t do it for your major…don’t want to hate what you do for your life.

Economics.

Politics in green business?

From what I’ve seen, environmental science majors do not always find it easy to get jobs, especially ones that pay well. As long as you are interested in Econ/Business, that is likely a better choice career-wise. Where are you going to go to school? It may make a difference as far as your options.

All of this green crap makes me sick. Hockey sticks are for a winter game, not making graphs to promote a liberal agenda.

econ or business. i feel like the environmental science market is going to be saturated in a few years.

Environmental law, maybe? a Major in business/poly sci and then a minor in that? I’d still really recommend that you look at what taking a minor will entail, if you don’t want to get into heavy science.

I know this girl in eviron policy. (Idk if it is its own major or a concentration in environ sci) All of her math and science classes are a joke and she was able to out them off til sr year.

I agree with people saying the market will be saturated. I mean, all you hear is green this and green that. Didn’t the same thing happen in forensics when CSI came out?

Econ or business is the way to go. Much more marketable IMO. Plus if your interests change you can do something besides the environ.

If you can swing it you could double major or major and minor. Definitely major in econ or business though.

Or just be an engineer. We can do anything ;)

Isn’t a business major designed to be the major for people who just want a high paying job out of undergrad? I thought that’s what the point of it was.

Assuming I’m right, I think the obvious choice would be business. Just deal with the 2 or however many accounting classes you need to take.

Economics or business would be the best one as far as salary. You have to keep in mind too that you can get a high paying job with any of those majors, as well as a low paying job. I would stick away from politics though. There aren’t too many openings for that if you’re not the best of the best or have tons of disposable income already.
