<p>"How can a college do its own ranking?</p>
<p>-Very easy. For example, applicant has GPA=4.0 uw. HS class has 33 kids and 3% is listed in profile as having 4.0 in profile. 3% represent 1 student. Here is applicant’s rank - he is ranked #1 in a class even though HS does not rank at all. This is the most simple example. Everybody’s profile can be calculated like this, I bet college has software that you just plug in numbers and get results. Very easy.
However, again, I would like to point out that this game is a waste of time to play. Just apply widely and open your horizon (mind) to opportunities everywhere, at every single school in the USA, it will be up to you to grab them while many will be passisng by (I love this my D’s comment, this is exactly what she said). College name is another game that people play, it is very superficial hollow approach to college search, it is not the most effective at all.</p>
