I actually looked into doing this and there are a number of universities, some that get a lot of love here on CC, that are advertising for readers.

If you do a search for ‘college application reader’ on Indeed dot com (or any job search engine) you will see the jobs currently taking apps. Pay is typically in the $15-$25/hour range.
