HNHDAD - According to his dad, son was well acquainted with the DDs…

Dunkin Donuts and CVS were practically on every single corner within a seven block radius!

@cellomom51, are you planning to post about Elon on the Audition Day Review thread? I’ve heard conflicting reports third-hand but would be interested to know what your experience was. Was there a general campus tour? An MT/performing arts-specific tour? Current student panels/presentations? Thanks!

I’ll post about Elon on the audition review thread later today maMTma, we drove up to JMU this morning for another audition so I’ll wait until I get to my iPad after we get back to the hotel

We were at JMU this time last year, Cellomom–BAL to your daughter! It’s a pretty day here in central VA, hopefully same in Harrisonburg. JMU was one of my son’s favorite auditions! :)

Dunkin’ Donuts is not even in the same WORLD as Krispy Kreme.

If you lived in a world as I do, that only has Krispy Kreme and does not have Dunkin’ Donuts, you might feel otherwise.

I beg to differ, prodesse. It’s all about the type of doughnut you prefer. You will not catch me at a Krispy Kreme. I don’t like pastry doughnuts and they’re far too sweet to me. But Dunkin’s cake donuts?!! Oh, yeah! That’s what I grew up on! There was no such thing as KK in NY.

I’m an equal opportunity doughnut consumer, but to echo GSOMTMom, there are no KK in Maine. We do have a fabulous local bakery Frosty’s that makes a cinnamon bun as big as a dinner plate.

I’m from Texas. We don’t have a lot of Dunkin Donuts where I live. I love Shipley’s donuts and in my opinion they are the best. If you ever get a chance you should try them

Sorry to throw this thread off track with my KK review, I’m a New Yorker so DD has been my go to donut for years and I actually prefer them but KK was a special southern treat. I too love donuts in every available form, best one I ever had was a fresh fried apple cider cinnamon sugar donut at my son’s pre-school open house and that was almost 20 years ago; I have a loooooong memory for good donuts!

Cellomom51, Wow, I think I’d remember that one too! Eating Special K with a banana on top…dreaming of KK, DD, Frosty’s, and Shipley’s!

I second prodesse!

Also I think I should mention we are going to be known as The Doughnut Class to future CC families.

I am from the land of DD and KK…however, IMHO nothing beats ‘Peace Love and Little Donuts’ in Pittsburgh…made to order, while you wait…so delicious!

I think it’s so funny that this “Interesting Findings at Chicago Unifieds” turned into the ultimate donut search. We have all clearly lost our minds. 2013 parents, is our sanity gone for good or is there hope of recovery?

PS - I have had DD and KK and I stand by my bold claim that the donuts at Beef and Brandy around the corner from the Palmer House are the best. They are more like KK than DD in style, heft, and glaze. And I bet you can even order them at night since they serve breakfast all day. (Though how they came up with Beef and Brandy for a name of a place that serves breakfast all day is beyond me.)

I though the same thing this AM AssToTheMT ;)) This thread will not be much help for next year, unless they want a good donut somewhere.

I think it’s important to have our priorities…

This just proves we are well rounded individuals, no pun intended!!

I want to know if Beef and Brandy ships! AssToTheMT … there is no hope for recovery, but a KK would help. @-)
