Interesting Question

On the commonapp it asks you to list your siblings. I have a twin, so he will be goign to college at the same time as me. But both of us have taken courses at a local university. It asks for the institutions he has attended, degree recieved by him, and dates of attendance. I already wrote in the college credit part about the courses I took and seny my transcript from the university. Should I write that my brother also attended courses at that university? What should I put there? Or should i just leave it blank? Please help! I need to submit app very soon since it is due by wednesday.

If it's part of a HS program...then most top colleges will say that the credit earned while in HS will not count as college courses. If the courses fulfill HS requirements, then even if the classes are at the local college, you and your twin have not actually matriculated into a degree program, and generally would be considered first-years.

But, my feeling is that it does not matter, since the adcoms will be able to figure out your brother is also your twin. And, if you list him as one who is taking college classes, like you do, they will assume its the same program you are in.

all of the classes i took were not to fulfill HS requirements, they were just extra courses, it is the same with my brother except one class where he took Pre-Calculus so he could take Calc in HS

Depending on the school, it might or might not count....

In anycase, list the college courses, and know that you were not a degree seeking student....thus, you're fine, and you can list your brother as having taken some college classes as well.

thanks :) ..

no prob. Funny how there are lots of things some HS counselors don't tell you?!

ya i know, i had a meeting with my counselor on thursday and she just told me stuff I already know lol
