Interesting short films about College Admissions.

Hey CCers,

I’ve been dreading my early decisions to colleges, so I started looking up some documentaries/films about College Admissions to get my mind of decisions and to gain some info. In the process I landed on some interesting films online, that I thought might be informative;

  1. "Acceptance"- Ivy League Admissions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7r93LEFjpCA Its about the race to the ivies and how an Asian applicant starts lying he got into Harvard. (Based on a true story- Stunning visuals/Amazing Soundtrack)
  2. "In 500 Words or Less" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alwzogmI_N8 Follows a couple of seniors from their application process to their decisions. (Diverse couple of seniors with URMs present, interesting stories,different socioeconomic backgrounds, etc)
  3. "Ivy Dreams"(A bit old but..) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cghj-myPGls&list=PL2AD19262E93ABE95 Follows 4 Asians teens as they struggle to please their parents by getting into the Ivies. (Living for Mike..haha)

Anyway hope you learn from their mistakes. Enjoy and good luck to those getting back decisons next week for the Ivies!

I watched the videos, great stuff, especially the first one.

The third one I can sort of relate to. My dad is extremely prestige hungry, but my mom, thankfully, is cool with me going to a state school.

I wish you the best of luck next week. Hopefully you will get into the school of your dreams!

I also loved Acceptance, even though the ending and the actual outcome weren’t the same :wink:

@loquatical I agree

I watched the videos, thanks for the links.
