Okay so I want to transfer out of Villanova. Other than the few decent people I have met, I have not really enjoyed myself. My situation is I will be studying abroad next semester in London as a Freshman. As I got busy with exams the last week of november and early december I did not ask for a teacher recommendation and now realize since I am not going to be back this semester I have a problem. I am applying to some state schools like UVa (recommended not required), UNC not required, and UT Austin not required. However I also have interest in transferring to georgetown, cornell which do require a recommendation. 1. these schools are a bit of a reach I had a 3.67 college GPA first semester and 3.8 in high school with a 1980 SAT.

As I understand one must print out the form fro teacher recommendation for each school and have the teacher mail it. Should I print these out fill l out my half an then email my teacher asking if I can mail it to her so she can mail it? Should I even do this if I don't really have a shot at the last two schools?

You can send the form to your professor (I think the Common App has a way that they or you can upload it) or you could just email and ask for a written recommendation. Most schools will actually take a written recommendation instead of the form.

I remember that if you put in your teachers’ e-mail addresses, common app webpage will automatically send them the links they can follow. to write recommendations.

Go to common application webpage and check under Supplement.

I thought for transfers you have to print the form out. Then give the teacher a mailing address and a n envelope so they can mail it. can somebody advise

thanks nyc2013. So if I just email my teacher explaining how I won’t be there next semester and if I could email her the rec and give her the envelope with the stamps then I should be fine?

Pretty much. Make sure you address the envelopes for the teacher and have the envelopes pre-stamped so that the teacher knows where they’re being sent/ doesn’t have to pay anything. You should print the recs out yourself because there’s a part you have to sign. I mailed my teacher a small package with everything.
