Here is an interesting site to follow some of the events happening at the University if you are remote and cannot attend. Chicago does a good job of uploading events regularly

Aims of Education
Thu, Sep 24 2015 6:30 PM CDT — Thu, Sep 24 2015 7:30 PM CDT
Every year since 1961, a University of Chicago faculty member has been invited to address students in the College regarding their view on the aims of a liberal education. This year, John Levi Martin, Florence Borchert Bartling Professor of Sociology, will give the address in Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. The Aims of Education address encourages students to reflect on the purpose and definition of education as they embark upon their collegiate years. The event was added to Orientation Week in 1962 and has become a tradition for incoming students.
