Interesting

I applied to Pepperdine this year and it seems to me like the admissions decisions made by the university are all over the place. I am in the range of SAT (1960) and GPA (3.8), however I am not confident in my chances due to the posts on this site. I am just confused about the selections and I do not know what to expect in my mailbox in a couple weeks, I do not have my hopes up. Do you think living in CT and being a male gives me an edge? I heard that private colleges looks for kids from out of state and I know that Pepp. has a high female to male ratio.
- Any comments are appreciated, Thanks

I know they did try to balance the student body last year. Your stats are good enough, but they look at ec (more in line with community service) and recs too. Good luck, let us know.

btw how was your essay?

I thought that my essays were strong, I focused on religion.

Good, I think essay are an excellent way for them to get to know you beyond the stats. Hang in there, you have a good chance.
