Look, I can tell you that you have good chances at most of these schools as a regular admit, but since you want to apply to their direct medical program admit programs as a freshman, I'd have to say that in most cases your odds are not good at all. Why are you doing this?--Are you absolutely 100% dedicated only to a medical degree--because you are really setting yourself up for failure here if you apply to only the medical programs with about a 3.7 unweighted GPA (which is about what you have).

Take a program like the biomedical engineering program at The College of New Jersey. Here's a college almost nobody's heard of, right. They admit 10 students to their biomedical engineering programs per year as freshmen. Average GPA: 3.94 unweighted. Average SAT: 1520. We're talking the type of scores you need for Harvard and Yale, here.

If you want to get into these schools' regular programs, your odds are as follows:

Johns Hopkins--Slight Reach
Case Western--Safe Match
Northwestern--Slight Reach to Reach
Ohio State University--Safe Match to Match
Georgetown--Match to Slight Reach

but to the 7-year medical programs at these schools, just put down Reach to all.

Hey thanks for the reply! I tried searching for the thing you are talking about for the College of new Jersey, but I don't see it on the site. Do you have a link to it?
Anyone else got any tips on other colleges or tips to improve?

Thanks for the reply! You gave me an idea (not so original but whatever) to get more!

Any more help/tips/suggestions for colleges or link to the College of new Jersey's biomedical engineering program? Thanks all appreciated and will return favor if you have a chance thread!

Thanks chazhands, if I applied to that, do I just apply as biomed engineering as my major and then ten students are picked or do I have to apply to a special honors program for it? Also, is it preferred to in-state students because I am out of state.

Also, any more advice for my chances? All this advice has been a tremendous help!

Johns Hopkins HPME -don't think so
NEOUCOM BS/MD -reach
Case Western BA/MD- match
Northwestern HPME Program- reach
Ohio State University-safety match
Georgetown 7-year program- match
