Interests section...

The application asks "List the films, performances, exhibits, concerts, shows, etc. you enjoyed most in the past year."

Would it be appropriate to list, for example, seeing your favorite punk band? I mean, if you really enjoyed it, why not put it, right? But on the other hand I can see how it might appear unprofessional or not serious enough. Is this section just for art galleries, operas, and things like that, or should you list everything you've really enjoyed? Thanks.

I was honest. Like, on "publications I read," I wrote Nintendo Power.

I think this section is meant for you to tell them who you really are. I don't think it would appear unprofessional at all, in fact I think if you list things like that it comes across as genuine. As an admissions officer I'd be a little skeptical of a high school student who listed only art galleries and operas-not to say you couldn't though. For example I wrote the Vans Warped Tour, I genuinely enjoyed it, but I also listed a really cool contemporary art exhibition I happened to go to that I enjoyed as well.

You're not applying for a professional job where you act like a mature adult every day; you don't need to be "professional." You're supposed to be a bright teenager with interests.

Awesome thanks.
