Here is a question for students and alumni.
Would you select option 1 or 2?
1. Attend Notre Dame and play Interhall football.
2. Go to WUSTL (or Carelton) and play Division 3 football.

It really depends upon what your goals are. If you hope to be a football player with some organization after you get out of college, then you should probably go with the division three school. Interhall football is taken very seriously by students and pending on which residence hall you are in, it can be intensive. But I seriously doubt it is anywhere near as fulfilling or looks anywhere near as promising on a resume as experience with a division three school. On rare occasions some players get called up to the football team but I wouldn’t pursue interhall football with that singular goal in mind. But hey, it could happen.

Check out this article that was on ESPN’s website a few months back about ND’s interhall program.

ND, ND, ND!!!
All of my friends who went to play small-school sports and “live the dream” quit during, or at the end of, their first years. Go to ND, play interhall sports, and have fun.

Not to burst your bubble, but JCool is absolutely right - just take a look at how many seniors (or even juniors) are on any college roster - I know, I was one of them - played one year of D3 football, then realized I wasn’t going to play on Sunday in the NFL and concentrated on academics (at a good NESCAC school). The time commitment for football is huge - think films, classroom work/position meetings, taping, prep, practice, shower, late dinner, etc. - Man, go to ND - have fun playing interhall ball and work hard on the academics. When it’s my time to hire you, your grades will be far more important than the # of great blocks or TD’s you can tell me about! Best of luck.
