My school does this random program every year called interim week
Basically we all leave school for a week no homework-yah!!!
and do actives during the week we signed up for.
Examples: outdoor backpack trip to Costa Rica
Second City
Habitat for Humanity
I just wanted to know if anyone did a program like at their schools
Also would this be something to talk about/put on application for college
The ones I have done in the past
Freshman Year: Memorials and monuments (history of Chicago)
Sounds boring but I learned how to take the loop, went on the Campus of University of Chicago-and found out the exact spot where the Chicago Fire started
Sophmore Year: I did the Hurricane Katrina Community Service one-we did'nt go down south but helped refugees who moved up here
I was interviewed in a newspaper about it and quoted
Also I made a speach infront of the whole school about it
Future Thanks

My school is starting interim term this year. My 2 best friends are being party poopers and choosing on campus courses, but I'm going to have fun with my week long trip at padre island anyway. And since interim term is the week before spring brea, I'm going to end up getting over 2 full weeks off before 4th marking period.

I think it is one of the best things my school does along with Morning Ex-the only problem with it is that all the seniors get the good ones-like the Costa Rica trip.
Another cool thing is you can with the school's help plan out a one week internship-my friend did a motorcross racing one
I think I may do a internship next year

HKIS (Hong Kong International School) also does an Interim Week. If I am not mistaken, they went to places like Nepal last year. I wish our school did it.

yeah, I go to HKIS. It's friggin awesome :D
Freshman year - scuba diving in thailand
Soph - Eco Challenge in New Zealand
Junior - Fiji - living with tribal people!
