Interior Design programs

In the fall I attended a school I absolutely hated. It had no prestige and I was pretty much the only one on my floor who ever studied or wrote papers. But the thing with me was, in high school I didn't try my hardest therefor got mediocre grades but I definitely have the ability.
Now I am transferring not only because that school is terrible but because they didn't have my major. I want to do interior design and I preferably want to be in New York City or very close to it. What schools are known for it? What schools are good for it that AREN'T rediculously expensive?
Also, in terms of financial aid... I have a small fortune left behind for me. Do you have to claim this?! I'm afraid I won't get any financial aid if I do which would suck if I went to a school that was like $50,000/year

For schools, you’re going to have to do some research, here is the CB list of colleges that offer ID as a major:

Also, use the Search function here on CC in any of the forums that might have what you need.

As far as cost, you’ll have to check the website of the schools you’re interested in. For how good the program is, start with the ‘similar threads’ listed at the bottom of this page.

Yes, all assets need to be declared for FA purposes. If the money is in the name of the parents rather than the student it is assessed at a lower rate.
