hello,
I'm a parent. Have any of you auditoned for Interlochen summer programs, with piano concentration. We are trying to get an idea of how difficult the admissions standards are, and what level of piano performance is expected. My son just turned 14, and is at roughly early advanced level piano literature, classical and early modern repertoire, and otherwise academically highly accelerated in most academic subjects. What was your experience in the summer programs, with the piano concentration, and also was it fun as well?

i think interlochen is a phenomenal experience all the way around. i went for the advanced vocal program but have taken piano lessons for 14 years now. i know as an advanced pianist that the program is absolutely solid and wonderful. it was fun and a good all-around experience. i learned a lot about not only music but life in general. undeniably one of the best experiences of my life..

I have heard kids playing chopin etude no. 10 who went there

can you give a sample of the repretoire that you know people have played at interlochen?
