Would it be extremely hard to take Intermediate Microeconomics and Econometrics in the same semester? From what I understand, they are extremely difficult courses but I might have to take them at the same time. I currently have close to a 4.0 but I would like to keep it that way as I will be trying to apply to top law schools.

Has anyone done this or does anyone think it would be overkill?

It’s impossible to answer this question without knowing where you go to school, what else you are taking alongside, and how talented a student you are. Of course economics majors typically take a couple of economics courses per semester, and some of them are hard, but presumably they have a high level of interest and ability in the subject. This is the kind of thing you should be discussing with your academic advisor, or with the director of undergraduate studies in the economics dept. at your college.
