Internal McCombs Transfer... UT GPA only?

I took calc 1 and 2 at a community college over the summer and got a B's, i thought the grade wouldn't matter because only the credit transfers, but...

If I apply for an internal transfer to mccombs will these classes count into the GPA they use or will I just get credit for the prereq?

You’ll get the credit for the pre-req. Only your UT gpa counts.

It is basically UT GPA. They say that if you’re borderline in or out, then they look at other stuff, like over school’s GPAs and ECs . But, generally, just UT GPA matters.

I am a high school senior and I have a question related to this thread.

If I get accepted to undergraduate studies, can I just take calculus 1 & 2 at a community college this summer and not have to worry about the grade I make? Then, when I apply to transfer into McCombs, it will just be a credit and the grade I made wont matter.

I don’t know how it is for business, but you need at least 24 in-residency hours before you can do internal transfers into cockrell. so i think that calculus as credit from acc plan wouldn’t really fly, especially not if this is your first semester at UT.

@hkem123- If I understand correctly, you can take calc 1+2 the summer of your freshman year, and then take a full year of UT courses, and then apply for the transfer at the end of your 1st year. Try to get a 3.5+ GPA i’ve heard

It doesn’t matter where you take your pre-reqs as long as you have completed them. Then just have 24 hours in residence (Kopmacher, the plan would work easily, 24 hours is nothing…) and around a 3.7 (that was the average this year).
