<p>Does CMU have any internal scholarships within the school or department in which you attend (MCS,phy) given during sophomore year after they see your academic performance during your freshman year?</p>

<p>I'm in CS, and when I was admitted my dad had a meeting with the financial aid officers and asked about that- they essentially said that there was no random money floating around to be given out to people other than freshmen. That said, there is sometimes a bit of money from scholarships sponsored by businesses, but it's not significant enough to impact a decision of where you attend, and you definitely can't count on it- it just randomly appears.</p>
