Hello !
Before I ask my question here is some student information about me.
I am currently a UTeach Chemistry undergraduate at UT. This fall of 2015 will be my Third long semester at UT. I was accepted as a transfer student last year for the Fall of 2014. I currently have a 3.79 UT GPA. I have only 21 UT semester hours completed for my current declared degree.
I would like to interally transfer into the Jackson School of Geosciences and declare the Geoscience; Teaching Senior Grades major and was wondering if anyone has some experiences going through this. I am certain I want to teach. I am not sure I am in love with chemistry as I once was when I took general chemistry. I took a Geology course and got an A and I become fascinated with the science , faculty and sense of care they have for their students.
How difficult is it to internally transfer? If I apply during my 4th long session at UT ( which is the only session I will be able to apply anyways) will it seem like I waited too long to apply? What do you all feel my chances are of getting accepted as an internal transfer. I have many professors to vouch for my my interest in teaching and STEM education…
Thank you!
