Internal Transfer into Mccombs 2012

So I applied for transfer into Mccombs and we should be hearing back within a few days. My stats are an officer of multiple clubs with a 3.875 GPA. What do you y'all think of my chances and has anyone else applied or heard back yet?

Bump…Anyone?

i think ur in. I’ve applied as well. But my gpa is a 3.69 … so im sorta borderline i guess. I emailed charles (internal transfer head) and he said that the decisions will be released tomm (june 1st) but usually every other past year it has been released around july…so i feel like its a bit too early

how tough were the requirement classes you had to take at UT?

fairly easy. just gotta take the right professor. look them up on myedu.com

The classes are manageable. The first econ (micro) is fairly easy, the second one is tougher, Only about 8% of the students made an A in the class when i took it. I placed out of both of the calc classes but those are supposed to be weed out courses so from what I hear they are relatively difficult. Overall, an A in all of these classes is definitely do-able

i dont think we’re gonna hear from them today…dang :/

had my hopes up that i would find out today.

This page says the decisions are released today so I’m crossing my fingers.

However, if you actually log in to check your results, it says the decisions are released in July. Hopefully it’s the former that holds true because I really don’t want to wait another month for the results.

@papermachine

yea same here but i have a feeling we’re going to have to wait another month…becs in years past the results have come in at the end of June/early july

If you completed more than 90 hours are you ineligible?
(I am already a transfer at UT)

I believe if all 90 hours are taken at a university and do not include credit from AP classes and whatnot, you will not be eligible to apply. However, I’d email Charles Enriquez and schedule an appointment with him so that he can assess your situation more closely.

cmon mccombs let us know today…please

Accepted to McCombs!

3.71 GPA

Acceptance decisions are online now. I was accepted! 3.875 GPA. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted!

Accepted!!! YEAAAA BOI

Congratulations for all of you! I would like to be admitted, but it looks that I have more than 90 credits to apply

Hey all, congratulations on your acceptances! I was wondering, what factors did they consider besides your GPA? Did you have to write an essay or include your involvement at UT and stuff like that, or do they strictly go off of GPA? If they go off of GPA I’m safe, but if not I’m going to have to get way more involved…

Thanks for the help!

For onlu Mccombs its basically only GPA. You have to submit your schedule hours and GPA and then there is a very small, like 10 lines, area where you can optionally put you EC. The only reason they would even look at your EC is if you were borderline. I would say if you have a 3.7-3.8 you shouldnt have to worry. BHP is a different story though if your interested in that

Do you know if they care how many hours you took each semester? For example, I only took 12 hours each semester because I was working 25 hrs during the week. Would they give preference to someone who had a 3.8 and took 15 hrs per semester rather than someone like me who took 12 hrs per semester and also has a 3.8?

Thank you for your reply to my previous post, by the way. That was very helpful! :)
