<p>I'm an admitted student for the class of 2016 and planning on attending UMich next fall. I applied to LSA but I now want to transfer to engineering. Is this possible and how hard is it to transfer? Would I be able to transfer before classes start next fall?</p>

<p>basically freshman year you will have to take:
physics 140 (mechanics) (unless you got a 5 on the physics C mechanics exam)
physics 141(1 credit lab)
calculus both semesters unless you are done with the four course engineering sequence (two of 115,116,215, or 216. although they claim you must only take one mathematics course before you transfer if you have AB or BC credit, they prefer to see that you are serious about engineering and therefore working to complete the calculus sequence by taking it every semester)
chem 130 (gen chem) or 210(orgo) and chem 125(gen chem lab) or 211(orgo lab) unless you place out from ap credit and the placement test
engin 101 (programming)
and english 125 (or equivalent course that fulfills the freshman writing requirement, cannot be placed out of with ap credit)</p>
<p>you will not be able to transfer before starting your freshman year, i know this all too well. you must go through and complete all these requirements (ideally by the time you finish freshman year), and apply to CoE by february first for fall admission of your sophomore year. as far as applying goes, so long as you do fairly well in all the requirements for engineering and write a decent essay about why you want to transfer, you should be fine. cross campus really isn’t too stringent as far as admissions criteria goes, so just keep an eye out on your freshman grades and have some fun.</p>
